Penn State settled a number of looming depth chart issues this week following an open practice on campus Wednesday. Coach James Franklin tipped his hand on the offensive line, broke down his four true freshmen who are most likely to see the field and addressed ongoing “concerns” about the kicking and punting units.
Paris Palmer is all but official as the starting left tackle in advance of the team’s season opener at Temple. Four true freshmen could see action in that contest, too, in Saquon Barkley, Juwan Johnson, Brandon Polk and John Reid. Meanwhile, the kicker and punter positions are still up for grabs and raising red flags for Franklin with just over a week until Temple.
Dustin Hockensmith and Bob Flounders tackled the Penn State football news of the day and gave their takes on Palmer, the freshmen and more. Check out audio of the show in this post and be sure to check back in to KeystoneSportsNetwork.com for plenty more Penn State podcasts and analysis.
