Penn State has made a statement at the midway point of the summer, most recently through the removal of player names from uniforms but also by trotting out key players for Lift for Life earlier this month. In returning to the public eye in the weeks leading up to summer camp, a handful of Nittany Lions stood out as making a big leap forward physically.
Freshman running back Saquon Barkley was on the receiving end of high praise from teammates and strength coach Dwight Galt. Tight end Mike Gesicki was up 20 pounds and looked much more physically prepared to tackle the Big Ten season. Koa Farmer said he was both bigger and faster.
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporter Audrey Snyder joined Dustin Hockensmith and Bob Flounders on the Keystone Kickoff Show this week to talk about player uniforms, breakout candidates and plenty more. Check out audio of the show in this post and be sure to check back in to KeystoneSportsNetwork.com for plenty more Penn State podcasts and analysis.
