KSN Podcast: ‘Tucker’s Tape’ on Penn State, Christian Hackenberg and situational football

Two years into coach James Franklin’s tenure, his offense still has far more questions than answers. And as the Nittany Lions struggle, blame falls on Franklin, offensive coordinator John Donovan, the offensive line and quarterback Christian Hackenberg. But what is the biggest problem in a sputtering passing attack, the scheme or Hackenberg’s execution?

Hackenberg  was asked to do very little in a 38-10 loss at Ohio State, completing 7 of 13 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown. He was sacked five times — twice on fourth down, once on third down and once resulting in a lost fumble — and showed questionable judgment in those situations.

Former NFL offensive lineman Ross Tucker broke down Hackenberg’s ability to play situational football and what role, if any, the coaching staff plays in those miscues on this week’s Keystone Kickoff Show. Check out audio of the show in this post and be sure to check back in to KeystoneSportsNetwork.com for plenty more Penn State podcasts and analysis.
