Garry Gilliam helped swing momentum back into the Seattle Seahawks’ favor when they needed it most in the NFC championship. The offensive tackle hauled in an improbable 19-yard touchdown on a fake field goal to help cut into a 16-0 deficit in an eventual 28-22 overtime Seahawks win over the Green Bay Packers.
Gilliam plowed through all types of adversity to earn a spot on the Seahawks’ roster as an undrafted free agent and made his mark when coach Pete Carroll trusted him to make a big play. A former Penn State tight end who volunteered to shift to tackle as a senior in 2013, Gilliam made the leap to the NFL by transforming his body and wowing his coaches with his work ethic and versatility.
Gilliam sat down with Dustin Hockensmith and Andrew P. Shay to talk about his big touchdown catch, his career at Penn State and his perseverance through a series of life obstacles on the Keystone Sports Network this week.
